Throughout the journey, your English-speaking driver/host will provide engaging live commentary, sharing local stories, tips and curiosities about the area.

1. Positano – The enchanting cliffside village

Your first destination is Positano, one of the most famous villages on the Amalfi Coast. With its colorful houses cascading down the cliffs towards the sea, Positano is a true postcard-perfect destination.

You will have free time to explore at your own pace:

  • Wander through narrow streets filled with local boutiques, artisan shops and cafés
  • Take photos from scenic viewpoints
  • Enjoy the unique atmosphere of this iconic cliffside town

Whether you choose to go down towards the beach or stay in the upper streets for panoramic views, Positano will charm you with its elegance and vertical beauty.

2. Amalfi – The historic maritime town and optional boat ride

Next, you will continue to Amalfi, the historic town that gives its name to the entire coast. Once a powerful maritime republic, Amalfi offers a fascinating mix of history, architecture and seaside ambiance.

Here you will have free time to:

  • Visit the impressive Cathedral of Sant’Andrea, dominating the main square with its grand staircase
  • Stroll through the charming streets and piazzas filled with shops and cafés
  • Taste local specialties, including the famous Amalfi lemons and traditional sweets

In Amalfi, you will also have the opportunity to join an optional boat ride (approximately 40–45 minutes, not included in the tour price). This short cruise along the coast offers unbeatable views of the cliffs, villages and hidden coves from the sea, adding a different and spectacular perspective to your day.

3. Ravello – The hilltop haven

The last stop of the day is Ravello, a peaceful hilltop town known for its refined atmosphere and sweeping panoramic views. Perched above the sea, Ravello has inspired artists, writers and musicians for centuries.

During your free time in Ravello, you can:

  • Explore the main square and the historic center
  • Visit (at extra cost) Villa Rufolo or Villa Cimbrone, both famous for their beautiful gardens and terraces with breathtaking views of the coastline
  • Enjoy the tranquil ambiance away from the busier seaside towns

Important information / Good to know

        Optional boat ride in Amalfi

The boat ride in Amalfi is optional and not included in the tour price. It usually lasts around 40 minutes and can be purchased on the day of the tour (subject to weather conditions, sea state and availability).

If you choose not to join the boat ride, you can continue to enjoy free time in Amalfi for shopping, sightseeing or relaxing at a café.

        Weather, clothing and itinerary

The tour runs in all weather conditions; we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and bringing a light jacket and an umbrella. The towns of Positano, Amalfi and Ravello involve walking on uneven surfaces and sometimes steep or cobbled streets, so suitable footwear is essential.

Traffic along the Amalfi Coast can be heavy, especially in high season, on weekends and on public holidays. For operational or safety reasons, the driver/host may adjust:

        • the order of the visits(for example visiting Ravello before Amalfi), and/or
        • the duration of each stop in each town.

Any waiting times during stops (for traffic, parking or access) may occur and are not dependent on the organization.

Contact details and meet & greet

To ensure smooth meet & greet operations, we strongly recommend that at least one participant provides a mobile phone number that is active and reachable in Italy (ideally the same number entered at the time of booking).

We also highly recommend downloading and using the WhatsApp messaging app, which allows our ground staff and driver/host to contact you quickly in case of any changes, delays or difficulties in locating each other at the meeting point.

Discover Italy cannot be held responsible if participants are unable to meet our staff at the agreed meeting point due to being unreachable or not answering calls/messages.
