Depart from Naples and leave the Bay of Naples behind as you travel along part of the world-famous coastal road, with its hairpin bends and spectacular sea views. Your English-speaking driver/guide will accompany you along the winding Amalfi Coast drive, sharing commentary and practical information throughout the day.

Your first stop is Sorrento, approximately 1.5 hours south of Naples. Perched on dramatic cliffs rising above the sea, Sorrento is one of the most scenic spots on the Campania coast. Favored since ancient Roman times for its mild climate and unique position, today it is a charming resort town with a lively atmosphere. Enjoy about 1 hour of free time to stroll through the historic center, browse the shops, admire the views over the Bay of Naples and soak up the relaxed, safe and welcoming ambiance, surrounded by lemon groves and traditional alleyways.

Continue along the spectacular coastal highway to reach Positano. Located in the heart of the Amalfi Coast, this iconic village has long enchanted travelers, from ancient Romans to modern artists and celebrities. From the road, Positano appears as a vertical cascade of pastel-colored houses descending towards the sea. You will enjoy a short panoramic stop (about 15 minutes) at a viewpoint above Positano, the perfect opportunity to take incredible photos of the town, the coastline and the islands off the shore.

Your journey then continues to Amalfi, the town that gives its name to the entire coast. After approximately 1 hour’s drive, arrive in this former maritime republic, once a powerful trading hub rivaling Pisa, Venice and Genoa. Today, Amalfi is known for its cluster of white houses rising gently from the harbor and for its impressive cathedral dedicated to St. Andrew, dominating the main square from the top of a grand staircase. Enjoy about 1 hour of free time to explore at your own pace, visit the cathedral (entrance ticket not included), wander through narrow streets and taste local specialties, including the famous lemons used to make limoncello and many traditional dishes.

To complete this extraordinary day, you will head to Ravello, located just a short drive above Amalfi. This elegant hilltop town is famous for its peaceful atmosphere, panoramic terraces and historic villas and gardens. Known as the “City of Music”, Ravello has inspired writers, musicians and artists for centuries. Here you will have about 1 hour of free time to explore the main square, admire views over the sea and, if you wish, visit Villa Rufolo or Villa Cimbrone (entrance fees optional).

At the end of your visit in Ravello, it will be time to drive back along the coast and return to Naples, where you will be dropped off at the original departure point. This itinerary is also ideal for cruise passengers, as the timing and route are designed with last boarding in mind (subject to traffic conditions).

Vehicle size and local regulations

A recent local regulation allows only small vehicles (up to 8 passengers) to park in Amalfi. For groups of 9 or more participants, the group will be split into two or more vehicles, each with its own driver/guide, in order to comply with local rules.

Traffic, timing and itinerary changes

Due to traffic conditions along the Amalfi Coast and in order to guarantee on-time return to Naples (and last boarding for cruise passengers, where applicable):

The order of the visited towns may be changed (for example Amalfi before Sorrento, or Ravello before Amalfi).
The duration of stops in each town may be adjusted. In case of heavy traffic, some visits may be shortened and replaced with additional panoramic stops along the route.

Your driver/guide will always do their best to agree with the group on the most suitable itinerary for the day, taking into account traffic, opening times and safety.

Weather, clothing and itinerary

The tour runs in all weather conditions; we recommend wearing comfortable shoes and bringing a light jacket and an umbrella. Any waiting times during stops (for explanations, traffic, photo opportunities or parking) may occur and are not dependent on the organization.

The driver/guide reserves the right to modify or adjust the itinerary if necessary for operational or safety reasons (for example due to traffic jams, road closures or unexpected events).

To ensure smooth meet & greet operations, we strongly recommend that at least one participant provides a mobile phone number that is active and reachable in Italy (ideally the same number entered at the time of booking).

We also highly recommend downloading and using the WhatsApp messaging app, which allows our ground staff and driver/guide to contact you quickly in case of any changes or difficulties in locating each other at the meeting point.
